Full Face Of Zuzu Luxe Makeup

Zuzu Luxe is a clean brand that is transparent with their ingredients. They are owned by Gabriel Cosmetics, which has been around since the 90’s. I remember seeing Gabriel products at the health food store as a teen 🙂

See below for all clean beauty products I used in this video

Below, you can find each product’s safety scores according to the Environmental Working Group and the Think Dirty app, as well as links & downloads to each product’s safety report from EWG. I also triple check them with the Switch Natural app, as even some cosmetics that are EWG Verified contain potentially harmful ingredients…

I use this multi-step approach to ensure that the clean beauty products I use and recommend are actually clean. Why?
There are many makeup brands that claim to be “clean” or “non toxic,” but they still use toxic ingredients like fragrance, peg compounds, siloxanes, or other potentially toxic ingredients.

My Shade: D-7

Ingredients:

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Octyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Love It

This is one of the best powder foundations I have used. While many powder foundations highlight texture and settle into fine lines, this one does the opposite! I noticed it gave my skin a smooth appearance and I looked airbrushed. The coverage appeared to be medium to full coverage, and it evened out my skin tone. It comes with a foam puff in the bottom section of the compact and a mirror in the top section.

I use my EcoTools Full Powder Makeup Brush to apply this powder foundation.

Zuzu Luxe Concealer

My Shade: C3

Ingredients:

Aqua (Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lecithin, Silica, Xanthan Gum, Kaolin, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Sorbate.

Why

I feel like this is an average concealer. It didn’t accentuate any texture on my eyelids, but there are other concealers I like more, like the Fitglow Conceal + (my shade is C2) or the Sappho New Paradigm Cream Concealer (my shade is Light) Or, if you prefer a thinner serum texture, the Han Skincare Cosmetics Concealer (I use Fair Light to correct or sometimes on its own – but only on my inner corner as it can dry down slightly yellow on me anywhere else – otherwise I use Fair to conceal).

Ingredients:

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Like It

I really like this blush! The shade Nymph is a unique lilac color and is not too overpowering. Plus, it has a subtle shimmer, doubling as a highlighter for me.

Tips

I apply this using my EcoTools Blush Brush.

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Octyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Fruit Extract, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Love It

This bronzer shade is very subtle on me, which I am a fan of. Although there is only one shade of bronzer, which seems a little strange, but it works for me, as the shade is not too warm and not too cool – it’s just right!

Zuzu Luxe Cream Brow Pencil

My Shade: Fig

Ingredients:

Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla)Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Xanthan Gum, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Hectorite, Lecithin, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Like It

This is an affordable brow pencil that needs to be sharpened regularly. The formula is just soft enough, and the shade Fig is a medium brown that seems to work for me, but is just a tad too dark. The downsides are that the brush is a little scratchy and you have to sharpen it. But if you don’t mind those things, I think this is a solid, clean brow pencil for the price.

Tips

For reference, the color Fig is a tad darker & cooler than the medium brown shades of the Anastasia Brow Wiz and the Gxve Hella On Point brow pencils.

Zuzu Luxe Mascara

My Shade: Onyx

*The EWG listing is for the Espresso shade, but the ingredients are identical.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Cellulose Gum, Sorbitol, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Panthenol, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Euphrasia Officinalis (Eyebright) Extract, Xanthan Gum, Iron Oxides, Hectorite, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Sorbate.

Why I'm on the fence about it

This is not a bad mascara. I like that the applicator is tapered for the harder to reach lashes and the wand is short (nice if you have small hands). But, I had to do 2 coats and it smudged after 5 hours. I like it fine, but for a similar price, I prefer these mascaras, all of which stay put for longer and have more of a dramatic effect on the lashes.

Ingredients:

Mica, Cetyl Palmitate, Silica, Kaolin, Zinc Stearate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Like It

This is a beautiful eyeshadow, it blends easily and lasts all day. This dark purple shade is on the bluer/cooler side. I used this as my only eyeshadow shade in the video and I like how it blended out with the tiniest bit of shimmer.

Tips

I applied this using my EcoTools dual-ended eyeshadow brush.

Zuzu Luxe Eye Defining Pencil

Shade: Tobacco

Ingredients:

Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Hectorite, Lecithin, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I'm on the fence about it

I think this is a great clean eye pencil if you don’t need something very richly pigmented, and want a very subtle look on top of your upper lash line. Otherwise, it may smudge, as it did on me after a few hours. I prefer the CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Ink Gel Eye Pencil or the Lancome 24 hr Drama Liqui-Pencil. They both work for tightlining. In my opinion, the Lancome liner is more richly pigmented and extremely soft – I usually use this to tightline only, as it is so soft that it is difficult to sharpen it enough to apply on top of the lash. I find the CoverGirl liner better for on top of the lash.

Ingredients:

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lecithin, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Bisabolol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Iron Oxides, Mica, Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort) Extract, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Love It

I enjoy how moisturizing yet light this lipstick feels. For me, it feels like I’m applying lip balm but with the color payoff of a lipstick! I like the shade Beso Beso because I love a bright berry lipstick!

Ingredients:

Aqua (Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice), Sorbitol, Cetyl Alcohol, Iron Oxides, Mica, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Bentonite, Bisabolol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Lecithin, Euphrasia Officinalis (Eyebright) Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Cellulose Gum, Hectorite, Potassium Sorbate.

Why I Love It

It is so hard for me to find a brown liquid eyeliner that does not contain Black 2/Carbon Black, but this one doesn’t have it! The brush is easy for me to work with as far as liquid liners go. I feel like there was just enough product dispensed on the brush and the brown shade appeared soft and not too harsh.

Shade: Innocence

Ingredients:

Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla)Wax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Crithmum Maritimum (Sea Fennel) Extract, Hectorite, Lecithin, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide.

Why I Love It

This lip pencil glides on smoothly. The shade Innocence is neutral and subtle. Personally, I prefer a shade with a tad more pink, like the Mineral Fusion Lip Pencil in “Splendid,” as this matches my lips better, but the Zuzu Luxe formula is nice and comfortable to wear as well.  I want to try more shades!
