Rituel De Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation Review
The 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation is the first product to market in any category to contain the new active carotenoid ingredient: fermented phytoene (JD Phyto-Or 1%). According to Rituel de Fille’s website, this is a “hyper-potent active” that “brightens, smooths and soothes.” It is made from fermented mycelium and jojoba oil.
Read on to find out how the 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation worked for me!

Do I love the Rituel De Fille 3 Drop Weightless Serum Foundation?
I have been so excited to try this foundation because of the newly isolated active ingredient mentioned above. I was not disappointed. The consistency is thin and pretty easy to blend into the skin. I used my fingers to lightly apply it like I would a skincare serum, then blended it further using my 100% Pure Non Latex Makeup Blender.
I noticed right away that my skin looked beautiful, my lines were blurred, and it simply looked like this was my skin! When I used 3 drops, I noticed that it was medium coverage and some blemishes were still visible. The next time I tried the foundation, I applied 5 drops instead, and the blemishes were no longer visible. 5 drops gave me the full coverage I was looking for.
This foundation does not contain spf, but you can simply wear spf underneath. The good news is that the foundation seemed to work very well with any other products I used on my face.
I noticed that it did settle into lines around my eyes, but that happens to me with most foundations and concealers. I show the method I use to combat this in this video and at the 3 minute mark of the video above. Though, I almost always need to gently sweep away a small amount of additional product with my finger 1 or 2 more times after I set the foundation or concealer.
I noticed that after about 4 – 5 hours the foundation broke up a little bit on my nose and chin. This is normal for me, and again was remedied a bit by applying 5 drops instead of 3. While it still broke up a little when I used 5 drops, there was still coverage left over in those areas.
Bottom Line
In my opinion, if you have mature and/or textured skin and are looking for a truly natural finish that is “your skin but better” and you don’t necessarily need it to last longer than 8 hours, look no further. I think this would also be particularly fabulous if you have dry skin, and may last longer for you.
For coverage longer than 4 hours, especially if you have oily/combination skin like mine, I definitely recommend using a primer, 5 drops, and a setting spray.
I think this foundation lives up to its claims. Us combo/oily skin beauties just need a little more prepping and setting.

Below, you can find each product’s safety scores according to the Environmental Working Group and the Think Dirty app, as well as links & downloads to each product’s safety report from EWG. I also triple check them with the Switch Natural app, as even some cosmetics that are EWG Verified contain potentially harmful ingredients…
I use this multi-step approach to ensure that the clean beauty products I use and recommend are actually clean. Why?
There are many makeup brands that claim to be “clean” or “non toxic,” but they still use toxic ingredients like fragrance, peg compounds, siloxanes, or other potentially toxic ingredients.
I only list products here that I love. As an Amazon Associate, I earn commission from qualifying purchases.
*I think this EWG score is misleading. The ingredients in question by EWG are Benzyl Alcohol, Lecithin, and Aloe Vera Gel (inside the leaf, not the skin). I am not concerned with these ingredients, especially since I am not putting the product on my eyes, lips, or inhaling a powder. Nevertheless, here is the EWG report. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.

Why I Love It
This primer is definitely multi-tasking. It color corrects, provides SPF 30, and preps your skin for makeup.
My Shade: Light
Ingredients:
Cocos Nucifera Oil*, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil*, Helianthus Annuus Seed Wax*, Silica, Jojoba Esters, Copernicia Cerifera Wax, Beta-Sitosterol, Squalene, Tocopherol, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil*. May contain: CI 77499, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77891
PFAS tested: undetected <10 ppm organic fluorine
*Certified organic (pesticide free) ingredient
EU Certified
Why I Love It
This is one of my new favorite concealers. It is brightening, buildable and a little goes a long way. I love that Sappho tests their products for PFAS (“forever” chemicals that most of us have been exposed to).
Tips
I try to use water-based moisturizers underneath makeup (oils can cause makeup to break up). To minimize creasing and set it without looking cakey, I apply the (M)anasi 7 Silk Finish Powder – see below for more info!
Ingredients:
Silica***, Silk Powder*** ***Produced from natural/wild harvested raw materials
Why I Love It
I have been searching for a clean powder to set my undereyes that works to prevent creasing and does not accentuate texture. This one works for me! Let me know if it works for you.
Tips
To minimize creasing and set it without looking cakey, I apply the powder to my undereye with the Jenny Patinkin On Pointe Puff, which places just the right amount of powder (you can also use a folded-up powder puff followed by a soft brush to brush off the excess).

*EWG listing is outdated for this product. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.
**Think Dirty’s listing does not contain sunflower seed oil & includes additional outdated ingredients, but maintains a low score even with those.
Ingredients:
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Ricinus communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Lanolin USP, Silica (Silicon Dioxide), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Carmine (CI 75470), Carnauba Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tocopherol (Non-GMO Soy Derived)
Why I Love It
I used this luxurious cream pigment on my cheeks. It is very pigmented so a little goes a long way, and I find it to be pretty long-lasting compared to other natural cream multi-color products. You can use this anywhere on your face (I like to use the shade Desire in and slightly above my eyelid crease and cheeks for barely-there makeup days just to create dimension. I also love the shade Nymph for a slightly more dramatic look).
Tips
I either dab it on the area I want and blend it out with my fingers or use the round edge of a dry makeup sponge.

Why I Love It
This reminds me of the CoverGirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder I used to use (I stopped using it when they snuck phenoxyethanol in it, which is only indicated on the packaging and not online). It is only a few dollars more and it provides excellent buildable coverage. It evens my skin tone while providing brightness to my complexion. It will last all day, but, as with most products, it breaks up in my t-zone a bit after a few hours. During my wear test, I needed to blot at the 6-hour mark. I think this is a fabulous clean powder that is just as effective as your conventional drugstore powders.
Tips
The directions say to use a puff or a kabuki brush. I usually use my EcoTools Powder Brush (commissions earned).
Shade: Golden Hour
*EWGs listing is outdated for this product. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.
**ThinkDirty’s listing does not include sodium lactate.
Ingredients:
Mica, Zea Mays (corn) Starch Zea Mays Starch, Squalane, Pentyleneglycol, Lauroyl Lysine, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Potassium Sorbate, Glyceryl Stearate, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Pca, Magnolol, Honokiol, Niacinamide, Fructose, Inositol, Lactic Acid, Glycine, Urea, Sodium Benzoate, Water.
May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499).
Why I Love It
This is a very pigmented bronzing powder. I love that I don’t need to use a lot to achieve a healthy glow. I also use it to contour sometimes.
Shade: Darkest brown shade (“Burnt Mocha?”)
*EWG’s listing of this product is out of date. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.
Ingredients:
(for these shades only: Chromed Petal, Burnt Mocha, Gilded Mauve, Matte Plum, Iced Cotton, Magnetic Ink, Soft Bronze and Vanilla’d Velvet)
Mica, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Zinc Stearate, Magnesium Carbonate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Sodium Dehydroacetate. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Carmine (CI 75470).
Why I Love It
This is a very versatile, affordable eyeshadow palette. I use the darkest brown shade to create the “wing” portion of my eyeliner. I use this particular palette for this purpose, as the formula is not as powdery as others, and it seems to “stick” better for this purpose.
Tips
I use the Sigma Beauty E06 Winged Liner™ Brush (commissions earned) to apply. I briefly explain my application technique in this post (scroll to the 2nd to last section).
My shade: 02 French Chocolate (Matte Brown)
*EWGs listing is outdated for this product. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.
Ingredients:
Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Synthetic Wax, Isododecane, Ci 77491/Iron Oxides, Ci 77499/Iron Oxides, Ci 77492/Iron Oxides, Polybutene, Mica, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Copernicia Cerifera Cera/Carnauba Wax/Cire De Carnauba, Silica Silylate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate.
Why I Love It
I use this to tightline my upper lash line. After the Marc Jacobs Highliner was discontinued, I needed a replacement liner for my waterline that doesn’t run. This one has worked well for me, and it’s much cleaner. Since I just use it to tight line (push & squiggle it into my lash line), I don’t worry about wasting product by sharpening it too often. It is soft and doesn’t irritate my eyes.
Tips
If you’re looking for a smudge-proof drugstore option, the CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Ink Gel Eye Pencil (commissions earned) is a great option. For me, this one is easier to use if I am lining the top of my upper lash line as you can easily sharpen it to a fine tip. It is also very soft and has a subtle shimmer. I love the “dazzling burgundy” and “shimmering brown” shades.
My shade: Matte Wood (Matte Dark Brown)
*EWGs listing is outdated for this product. I used EWG’s Build Your Own Report feature.
Ingredients:
Trisiloxane, Isododecane, Acrylates/Polytrimethylsiloxymethacrylate Copolymer, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquiisostearate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polybutene, Propylene Carbonate, Silica,
May contain: Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides).
Why I Like It
This is the only clean liquid eyeliner I could find at Sephora or Ulta that comes in Brown. So many eyeliners contain Black 2/Carbon Black, but this one doesn’t.
Tips
You have to use an extremely light hand when applying, as there is a lot of product on the applicator at first. I press the tip of the wand against the tube as I take it out to help get rid of excess product. I line the outer portion of my eye first, as it is easier to clean up if I make a mistake with the excess product. Then, I line the inner portion of my eye. Once applied, it dries somewhat fast.
If you are looking for something closer to drugstore pricing, check out the Zuzu Luxe Precision Liquid Liner (commissions earned). I find this one easier to use and they have a brown shade!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
My shade: Medium Brown
Ingredients:
Why I Love It
I love how precise I can get with this super thin brow pencil, especially as someone who is not a brow afficionado. Applying it in short strokes really makes it looks like hair. I like that it is not too creamy and doesn’t smudge or wear off during the day. I’ve found there are not many brow pencils that compare to this one.
Tips
This does have phenoxyethanol in it, but I have been using it up before I move on to cleaner options. However, if you prefer to avoid this ingredient altogether, try the Plume Nourish & Define Eyebrow Pencil (commissions earned) (my shade is Chestnut Decadence) which is a more delicate formula and a few dollars more, but comes with a refill. Another option is the Gxve By Gwen Stefani Hella On Point Clean Ultra-Fine Brow Pencil (my shade is Neutral Medium Brown) which is a bit creamier.
Badger Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, *Organic Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Organic Beeswax, Organic Castor Oil, Organic Aloe Vera, Organic Vanilla Extract, Organic Rosemary Extract, Organic Rosehip Extract & Organic Seabuckthorn Extract
*=Fair Trade CertifiedTM by Fair Trade USA (30% of product)
Why I Love It
I have one of these lip balms in most rooms of my house (lol). They are very moisturizing and really help heal my dry lips!
Tips
There are a few flavors, but Vanilla and Cool Mint, and Pomegranate are my favorites .
Shade: Written In Blood
*Think Dirty’s listing is outdated for this product.
Ingredients:
For shade Written In Blood:
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Carmine (Ci 75470), Silica (Silicon Dioxide), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Carnauba Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Mica (Ci 77019), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tocopherol (Non-GMO Soy Derived)
Why I Love It
For me, this lipstick in “Written In Blood” is a clean dupe for the Gxve Beauty Lipstick shade “Original Me,” but without the lake dyes! It is a beautiful blood-red shade and is also quite hydrating. I would say the staying power is about average for a lipstick. It stays on pretty well, but you would probably need to reapply after a meal.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua/Eau), Propanediol, Ectoin, Sea Water, Caesalpinia Spinosa Fruit Extract, Kappaphycus Alvarezii Extract, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid
Why I Love It
Honest Beauty formulated this setting spray with active ingredients that include a “sugar shielding blend that acts as a weightless second skin,” while extremolyte (a stress-protection molecule) helps to defend against blue environmental pollutants.
Tips
When I am done with my makeup, I hold this about half an arm’s length away and spritz it all over my face with my eyes closed. Then, I fan my face for a few seconds to help it dry.
